There is something so special about photographing children in a space where they can truly be themselves, and our recent farm mini sessions at Jewell Family Farm in Wilmington were exactly that — pure joy, wonder, and the sweetest memories.

Four wonderful families joined me for these special kids and family mini sessions, and each little one got the chance to meet and snuggle the most adorable farm babies, including baby bunnies, goats, chicks, and ducklings. From the moment the families arrived, the excitement was contagious. These sessions were full of genuine smiles, cuddles, giggles, and so many unforgettable moments.

Riley’s Sweet Start

Riley was our very first little guest of the day, and she was an absolute natural in front of the camera. It’s no surprise, since her mom is also a full-time photographer!

She gave me the sweetest smiles and was so incredibly patient while the animals got comfortable around her. Watching her gently interact with each baby animal made for the most beautiful child portrait photography moments. She truly made the session feel effortless and so full of charm.

Lyla and the Ducklings

Lyla was ready to love on the animals the second she stepped out of the car.

She jumped right into the experience with so much excitement and joy, and it was impossible not to smile watching her. Her parents and I were absolutely losing our minds over how adorable she looked holding the ducklings. They seemed so calm and cozy in her little hands, and the images we captured are some of my favorites from the day.

Cora & Owen’s Farm Adventure

Cora and Owen brought so much excitement and energy to their session.

They were thrilled with every new animal they got to meet and absolutely loved showing off every farm animal sound they knew. Their reactions were priceless, especially when they met the baby bunny.

Mom shared that they have been asking for a bunny forever, which made that part of the session even sweeter. Capturing their genuine excitement and sibling connection created the most heartwarming family photography and sibling portraits.

Walker’s Mama Snuggles

Walker might just be the smiliest little boy ever.

While the animals were adorable, he was much more interested in being photographed and getting snuggles from his mama — and honestly, I loved every second of it.

We spent much of his session walking around the farm and letting him explore at his own pace. Those quiet moments of connection between him and his mom created some truly beautiful mother and child lifestyle portraits that I know they’ll treasure forever.
