Celebrating a New Chapter: Evita & Mike’s Grand Opening of Hometown Barbershop in Carolina Beach

As a photographer who’s had the pleasure of capturing some of the most special moments in Evita and Mike’s lives — from their engagement to their wedding — I’m thrilled to share a new milestone in their journey: the grand opening of Hometown Barbershop in Carolina Beach!

The ribbon-cutting event was nothing short of spectacular, drawing the largest crowd the local Chamber of Commerce has seen for such an event. It’s no surprise, given how beloved Evita and Mike are in our community. The atmosphere was electric—filled with excitement, community spirit, and the aroma of the legendary Britt’s Donuts, which were served to everyone in attendance.

We also had Jerry Davis generously donate his time to cook up some delicious barbeque, making the celebration even more memorable. It was clear from the start that Hometown Barbershop is more than just a place to get a haircut—it’s a reflection of Evita and Mike’s welcoming and friendly personalities.

Their shop currently features four chairs and four full-time barbers, each ready to provide top-notch services. Whether you’re looking for an appointment or a walk-in, they’ve got you covered. Plus, they’re committed to giving back—offering discounts to veterans, military personnel, first responders, and teachers, embodying the spirit of service and community Evita and Mike so deeply care about.

One of the exciting highlights is their branded merch—especially their stylish hats that let you show off a bit of local pride! It’s the perfect accessory to support their new venture.

Mike’s passion for making people feel good is evident in everything he does, and I have no doubt that his new shop will reflect that same energy. His dedication to excellent craftsmanship and genuine care is one of the many reasons I recommend them — even my own husband is excited to start going there for all his hair needs!
