Location, location, location. Let me share with you some of my favorite spots to host photography sessions, and you can see the pros and cons of each spot. Please note, as a client of mine, you are never limited to what I write here!
Fort Fisher

Pros: Diverse background. There are rocks, trees, spacious open areas, and a stunning beach. The beach here is usually next to empty at sunset.
Cons: If you do a mini session here it will not be enough time to cover as much as we would like. You will need shoes on for all the photos besides the ones on the beach (there are fire ants, sand spurs, and lots of pokey things).
Greenfield Park

Pros: In the spring it is loaded with pops of colors and gorgeous landscaping.
Cons: Can be “buggy”
The Arboretum

I often describe this location as a “knock-off Airlie Gardens”. It is much smaller but loaded with plants and greenery. There is a big pond in the middle and some beautiful trees that offer some shady spots that make for great photos.
Pros: There is no admission or photo pass required. Usually very quiet.
Cons: They close at 5pm and in the Spring and Summer that is a long way from golden hour and sunset.
Downtown Wilmington

Pros: Lot of diversity in your photos (brick roads, vintage
Cons: Must pay for parking, lots of walking is typically needed. Can be very populated.
